You Are Always On My Mind
To my son Stan on his 40th birthday Love you always. Mum xxx 3/4/08
It is so hard to realize
You`re forty years today
It seems to me a moment since
I watched you jump and play
A handsome little boy you were
And now a handsome man
Can`t believe my darling child
Time did not walk - it ran
Brown eyed innocent baby
Toddling round the floor
Scuffed school shoes, tie askew
I could not ask for more
Growing up to teenage years
Broken hearted love
Brought some sad and lonely tears
But God watched from above
Losses - yes - you`ve had a few
But as you grew older
God gave you an angel
And put him on your shoulder
He`ll guide you through the bad times
And help you find the good
Life begins at forty son
Just the way it should
I think of you in moments
Of sweet serenity
I wander back into the past
And it`s then I see
The memories of purest gold
That wander back in time
And I am so happy son
To know that you are mine
Have a happy day today
Make this your brand new start
And remember son I love you
From the bottom of my heart
