  October's Child

The words sung out in sweet refrain
Drifting across my mind like a roving cloud
One pranced boldly sounding less mundane
Another one polished and rhyming out loud

He sat there watching as I mended each one
My hands were shaking like leaves in the wind
A master of his trade couldn't be outdone
The words he would hang were a superior blend

The stars peeped out behind a twilight curtain
Waving as I marveled at the view
Friends of the sun knew my name it's certain
He had mentioned my arrival to a majestic few

The steps I saw seemed to build upon themselves
His hand gently led me on along
Rhyming words were basking on the shelves
While others offering rhythm, chorded into song

Observe all words noting things have a purpose
Mixed together for the final presentation
Never be too hasty, for your best is a must
As your fingertips will pen your destination

As the wax runs down from the candle of time
And my eyes reflect over the written pages
I shall never forget the magical climb
Hand in hand with the Master Of All Sages

maîtriser de tout sages
