Heart Of The Matter

Locked In Place

Photobucket

So silly, are the games we play,
Afraid to speak, to have our say,
Our feelings, thoughts,
Are misconstrued,
We hide behind the naked truth,

And pouring oil to fuel the fire,
Mistaking lust for loves desire,
We wonder why the passion goes,
And love, it withers,
Never grows,

In matters of the heart, you see,
You need the bond to set you free,
In honesty,
The truth be told,
In trust,
The lovers ever bold,

We wear a mask in our defense,
Far safer sitting on the fence,
Surround ourselves,
With empty space,
And the mask,
So firmly, locked in place.
