 With Deep Longing

Luke 22:15 (The Living Bible)
and He said,
"I have looked forward to this hour with deep longing,
anxious to eat this Passover meal with you
before my suffering begins".

With Deep Longing

I have looked forward to this hour;
To break bread and wine,
For you are my reason for living,
My Love for you is Divine.

With deep longing, I'll be leaving,
I'm Asking My Father above,
To instill in your hearts His Meaning
Of Pure, Unconditional Love.

Broken bread becomes my body
Do this in remembrance of me
blood stained, reviled, crucified,
To set your spirit free.

The vine-fruit is my blood,
Given just for you,
'As oft as you drink of it'
Remember what I do.

Remember all that I taught you
Through parable, sermon or prayer,
Whenever you feel heartbroken,
Know I will always be there.

I have looked forward to this hour with deep Longing,
For it's you that I love; exceedingly
I know that I must endure suffering,
So you can spend eternity with me.

Let us break bread together and remember
All we have been through,
Learn to love and be kind to your neighbor
Will deep longing I'll be coming for you.
