When they said we were having a nice Summer,
And it was gona be scorching hot,
I remember thinking, 'oh, great!'
But I've changed me mind, and its not!
I've been feeling so sticky and tacky,
And I got stung by a bee!
I'm inundated with flies,
No, Summer just isn't for me!
It's too hot to cook in the kitchen,
So I thought a barbie would be just great?
But the thing wouldn't light, and I got a fright,
And the dog was in a state!
So I thought I'd stick to salads,
But the kids didn't want any more,
It was salad for dinner, salad for tea,
And they complained' that I was a bore!
I've got no air in the house,
And it's much too humid to breathe,
So suffice to say - I'm knackered,
What's Mother Nature got up her sleeve?
Whilst everyone's basking in glory,
I'm secretly praying for rain!
I know it's a sin, but I just can't win,
I want Winter to descend once again!
I want to be cold in the morning,
When I get out of my bed from my sleep,
And I want to freeze in the bathroom,
And in a hot bath I want to steep!
I want to cook big roast dinners,
And sit round the fire full on,
I want to be rid of this Summer heat,
So Autumn and Winter - roll on!
