MAMA, I'M HERE

MAMA, I'M HERE

In this world of fear she dreams of her sunrise
Collecting the pieces thru yesterday's eyes
Unlocking all doors, nothing to recognize
Connections are broken, she sadly sighs

She thinks she is praying, when speaking each day
All her yesterday treasures are hidden away
I speak soothing words, she has nothing to say
She has already left this world in her own way

Her memories of me now covered in dust
Her storehouse of life is the color of rust
The eyes I meet show some mistrust
Grasp the reality, face what you must

Her pockets are lined with nothing but dreams
Which wander in her mind, now torn at the seams
If I could unlock her love, I know it still gleams
Her tear blotched pages, stain empty themes

I pray in the darkness, she's hidden in smoke
My outstretched hands touch death in a cloak
I would dance and sing if ever she awoke
But I am not God and can't fix what's broke

Mama, I am here
