Of Heavens Fire
Pressed today to understand
My faith seems rocked and in demand
By life inside a home empty
Of what it should be filled of plenty
I'm sure my life is not unique
Given the years that hold a streak
Of emptiness where love should be
Today mortal we run empty
Stay focus is what repeats
Inside a heart taking the heat
My mind boggled that at my age
Life should read like a new page
Yes it's me that writes for one
Shaken my faith, feeling undone
Yet still I hold just barely to
JESUS who said, I'll see you through
No sorrow or pity party
Just anger in a weakened body
That should know how to handle this
Feels like goodbye upon us kissed
Redundant seems is how I've lived
Repeat we do what cannot give
The peace of mind that my Lord can
Of Heavens fire who saved me damned
So today we lick our wounds
Of broken heart and soul once doomed
To live whats left of time given
Looking up once more forgiven
