HOW I LONG
The depth of your pain,
the promises broken,
the blood of your sorrow
in words left unspoken...
...how I long to comfort you!
Dreams now lie buried,
your hopes are but shadows,
the weight of life's burdens
now grieve your tomorrows...
...how I long to hearten you!
The past is a blur,
the future uncertain,
a man so reviled longs
to draw down the curtain...
...how I long to rescue you!
Hold onto my hand now,
in the midst of the fray,
reach out for my love now,
if just for today...
...how I long to cherish you!
