 Language of Enchantment

It's Not Because Of Who I Am

Lord, the world wants to applaud me
But the applause must go to You
Because You are the One responsible
For whatever accolades are due
Lord, they don't seem to understand
That all the glory isn't mine
Yes, I might hold the pencil, Lord
But You have written every line
I'm not seeking recognition
Lord, I wish the whole world knew
It's not because of who I am
But because of who I am in You
My reward's laid up in Heaven
Earthly triumphs will all past
Fame is only temporary
But works for You will always last
I just simply want to serve you
With Your gift and with my time
You deserve the praise and honor
All I want is already mine
I've been blessed with Your anointing
You've made all my dreams come true
It's not because of who I am
But because of who I am in You

 Thank You, Jesus,
(c)Doris Jacobs-Covington
"We are God's workmanship, created
in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for
us to do." Ephesians 2:10
