The Best is Yet To Come

It seems I'm always spending my days

Caught up in some frantic haze

Trying to remember moments of the past

Swiss-Cheese Memories, to rehash

Moments forgotten are haunting to me

Misspent youth, most would agree,

Lost, gone forever, trying my soul

Longing for life to, somehow, be whole.

Memories recalled; my spirit sooth,

Gladness and joy; feelings smooth,

Quieting calmness envelops me,

Experiences are my total, you see.

At last, it seems that I can find

The source that bring me ‘Peace of mind'

My comfort in the storms that rage

Within a soul so wracked with age

My Father calls, I must reply

Laced with questions, asking ‘why'

Through a glass, darkly; then face-to-face

Caught up in My Savior's Warm Embrace.

To kneel before Him, weeping free,

Releasing sins He bore for me,

Reaching out to hold His Nail-Scarred Hand

Walking with Him into the Promised Land.
