 Pages Of A Woman's Soul

Drinking in deeply
the dripping, violet perfume
carries me into a blissful reverie.
Effortlessly I am transported
by the heady aroma
into a lilac moment of time…

…surrounded by a sea
of scented blossoms I stand,
a youthful figure,
innocent in my delight.
With upturned face,
I revel in the feeling
of being hidden;
verdant branches embracing
me away from the world
of the everyday.

My being is replete
with the nurturing sweet nectar,
my soul overflowing with joy
and I never wish to leave this place…

…once, I was a fresh-faced, hopeful girl
and springtime's sun-kissed bloom
laid out my future in flowers and promises…

…today, I treasure the tantilizing whispers
that beckon me to languish
in lavender memories.
