 Pages Of A Woman's Soul

Wishes in the dark
     float above me...

...midnight musings
always summoned
as I lay in silent repose.

With quilt drawn up
my muddled mind
grows quiet, as
a prayer lifted up
in my heart
soothes daytime's
fears and frustrations.

Tenor tones from the mantel clock
drift up through the floor
in a gentle lullabye of assurance
of time unfurling onward,
as it should...

...and then, comes sleep...
