On The Edge



I stand on the edge of what will be
Clinging tightly to what is safe
Asking should I just chance
The unknown depths of life



I feel comfortable
In the unknowing
Yet a part of me yearns
To discover what is missing



I stand upon the pier of safe
With unknown depths just below
I tightly cling to the security of present
Yet deep within I yearn to let go



The pain of the past
Is all but a dull ache
Dare I take the chance
For my heart to again break



To always play
With in the safe zone
Is all but a promise
To be forever alone



Do I go
Or should I stay
Love of the past
Oh the price I did pay



My comfort lies
Here on my safe ledge
While I dream to just jump
Yet here I stand On the Edge
