I Cast my past into the sea
I rid my heart of all its pain
I am who I am... I can only be me
And I will break this loneliness chain
It matters not what they feel I should do
I have to do what is best for me
With the approaching New Year of Promise
I pray of the past to be set free
Tonight I shed my final tears into the sea
To the future I move with out a backwards glance
Too much time I have wasted on the undeserving
I now reach out to take another life's chance
I will walk with head held high
As I face each and every day
I just pray this next year be kinder
As I try to make my way
New Years Eve I normally face with dread
But for some reason tonight I care not
Because I will do this thing called life
No matter what
