Feathers In Life's Wind
Darkness
is where
your thoughts
survive
beneath
life's surface,
as sophisticated
outer layers
fight everyday wars
for imprisoned
internal realities,
freedom
is a complicated
state of being,
our connection
as humans
makes it impossible
to truly be free,
for I can't forget
about the suffering
nor the innocently
prisoned nor the loveless
nor the discriminated against
nor the children paying
the price of innocence,
how do we live free
when approximately
seventy eight women
are rapped every hour?
is searching for peace
turning your back on humanity?
I needed though man,
I've seen enough,
I need some peace,
is that selfish?
darkness
is where

fill needs, fear
fears,
constantly
sitting
in our own minds
theater rooms,
watching memories
movies,
playing the
same ending
that we somehow
kept a secret.
