 Learn to Forgive

I was standing at the corner
Of a busy street
When a lonely looking stranger
Came and said to me
Learn to love each other
That's the way to live
The most important thing
Is learning to forgive

I did not recognize him
And why'd he pick on me?
He is just a stranger
I thought it strange you see
I was at that moment
Thinking about my past
I had held some grudges
I wish they didn't last

I turned to look around me
He was nowhere near
That is when I realized
I began to shed a tear
I asked God to forgive me
To cleanse my heart of hate
I need to have forgiveness
Before it gets too late

I got into my car
And rushed to get back home
I had so many people
To call up on my phone
I told them I was sorry
For feeling the way I did
I opened up my heart
That day I did forgive

That lonely looking stranger
He opened up my heart
He could have been my Savior
He sure did leave a mark
I'm a different person
I'm not who I had been
I'm not that hateful person
I've learned how to forgive
