Santanial SilviaSantanial Silvia she sat on a bench Near a big tree in Santanial park~ She was always sad'just her and a bag But when spoken to her eyes had a spark~ She had told him she'd meet him The one she adored ever more~ He'd told her he'd meet her there When he came home from the war~ She had received a letter from him He'd be coming home soon~ And oh how she had waited From morning till almost moon~ Everyone they knew her'she knew everyone Very seldom ever missing a day~ Runners ran past'said hello ever so fast Silvia would smile and nod in her own way~ Via sadness and years and all of those tears She had waited and waited it seemed~ For that one she adored coming home from the war And of his true love her heart it had dreamed~ One day I was told when the weather was cold They came and took Silvia away~ She'd waited so strong'she had been there so long But I'm told Silvia had joined him today~ Love can be unkind in life one can find How everyone will never forget~ Santanial Silvia on a bench in the park When the sun shone and when it was wet~ She had adopted a bird'hardly ever spoke a word Just sat there just waiting for him~ How she had loved him always'for all of her days Sometimes in love'love one doesn't win~ Terrence Michael Sutton Copyright 2008 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
