Veridian Fields

Veridian Fields

Lay yourself down
Within veridian fields
Let words of love
Escape your lips
So soft, quivering crimson

As I enwrap you close
Within sheltering arms
And a shimmering cascade
Of auburn and gold
Curls dancing upon the wind
Meant...
For your wonder alone

Fear not
That your words
Shall ever fall
Upon a deafened heart
For their greatness
Sings stronger
Than the very nightengale

Clasp my hand then
Hold it against you
For I may know the depth
Of your devotion
Felt beneath
My womanly trembling

Lay yourself down
Within veridian fields
Paint love with me
Upon billowy clouds
Our testament
To be seen, evermore
