Poetry For Everyday People
Facing What We face
When you come
to the conclusion,
that, this is
your way out,
you're gonna
write it
all,
off your chest,
you're gonna pass along
what you've learned,
what you think alone,
do alone,
seen alone,
what's been done to you,
what you've done,
what you feel inside
the walls around you
and within you,
why the mirror
is an inconsistent friend,
comes a time when
holding back can
no longer exist,
we are full, our
hearts are full, our
minds are full, our
memories are full,
our tolerance is
full,
our courtesy
is full, our innocence is
used up,
we're just looking
for a kiss with a heart
behind it rather than
a plan, looking for
real, good or bad,
soft rain drops
on our headaches,
people miss out on
that,
we see people
together at times
and we think:
why is she with him?
or why is he with her?
well I think
truthfulness can compensate
for madness or a lack of
traditionalism or the expectation
of, that two fetishes are better
than one and two lost souls
make a beautiful couple,
love is the ultimate
get along, the perfect
sleep over, two trouble
makers completely in sink,
two people no longer willing
to lie or pretend or walk the
streets all night knocking
on neon chances,
when you decide
to get it all off
your chest,
(in my case)
write it off,
when you fall
in love with words
that fight for you
like no one ever had
or ever will,
love,
letting go, giving,
profoundness in dignity,
red wine smoke and a friend,
revenge by way
of resilience,
pride intact
by way
of poems.
to the conclusion,
that, this is
your way out,
you're gonna
write it
