Fantasies Promise
As we walked hand in hand
The sky spread wide and clear
Stars sparkled points of brilliance
Distant but oh so near
Pricking through a velvet canopy
Like diamonds across the sky
A fantasy we wish upon
And a love we can't deny
Distended moon close to full
Its radiance a gentle caress
Emotions running rampart
Feelings we can't suppress
Babbling brook a musical cadence
Silvery cymbals in tune of the wind
Playing out each carefree note
Slowly fading around the bend
Eyes searching the depth of each other's

Caught in fantasies promise
