THE THINGS I SEE

THE THINGS I SEE

She raised her eyes upward toward a brumous sky
Inside her thoughts a hazy world of pink
A bouquet of birds meandering high
Her images become a dab of yellow ink
Things, only she could see

The sky was lounging in bits of information
Secrets unseen by the earthy crowd
Esoteric wonders became her reincarnation
As ruling anomalies, where everything's allowed
Things, only she could see

Reels of film unfolded, layers back in time
Her face eager, she desired to conquer all
Embarking upon life and the ladder she would climb
She never knew the meaning of a turbulent fall
Things, only she could see

Viewing parcels of good times kept in boxes small
Opening each one, touching a warmth of yesterday
Dreams wrapped in fairy tales, wall to wall
Before today's reality locked this world away
Things, only she could see

Eyes are opened to a sky of changing color
All secrets locked away from earthly view
The yellow ink dabbles became something duller
White morning comes.......I gaze, anew
Things, only I saw
