When She Dreams ღ KKD ღ
When She Dreams
She walks thru the door leaving behind
yet another wasted week
Away from work
it is silence and solitude she does seek
The world in which she lives
is just too hard to take
Tired and broken she shuts the car door
No longer is there the call he would make
She unlocks the door
to where she wishes not to be
She looks in the mirror on the wall
and what is it that she sees
The eyes no longer sparkle with love
The lips no long smile that he once kissed
The heart no longer soars
like when it was love possessed
She remembers a time,
of not that long ago,
when heads would turn
and she held an inner glow
She makes a mental note
That mirror must come down
The image that reflects back
is not what she once found
She gets her usual cup of coffee
and retreats to her only safe place
and makes the one daily call
that is her saving grace
They talk of the day
and the many different events
She hangs up the phone
and now the time she most resents
There s only so many words
one can put to paper
to pass the lonely hours
to enable sleep to take her
She walks the floor
night after night.
Not knowing where she belongs
as her mind sleep does fight
This was not the plan
this was not the joint dreams
by now they were to be silenced...
all those lonely night screams.
In the predawn hours
if sleep her body finally forces
The lonely chains are broken...
as she dreams of riding life s wild horses
