This is written from actual fact. Grand daugher for her school
played the position of setter. Her team finished as district
Champions. Trying out for the select team she came up short.
Literally they thought her too short for volleyball setter.
Her love of the game she stepped down to a lesser team. She just
loved to play. They rose from last seed beginning of year to almost
winning tournaments. Then a new coach and new girl arrived. Nothing
the girls did was good enough. Under constant chastisement for their
play the team was playing badly. Sunday the coach and her girl did
not show up expecting to lose. The girls were inspired by their Irish
setter and won. In practice they will wear their championship jerseys
The new girl was dropped from select team
Playing down was not her image dream
The new coach in her mind was a legend
Between them put a wedge hard to imagine
My little girl was known as the Irish setter
For any team to win they must get better
The setter couldn't do as good as coach in her days
The new girl didn't have to answer to set plays
On Saturday the girls barely were able to qualify
Seeded last everyone knew playing just a valiant try
The new coach didn't like her name with a loss
The new girl wouldn't play unless she was boss
Sunday the girls left possessed won the tournament
