I Am But Who I Am ღ KKD ღ
I Am But Who I Am
Words can be cruel
To the inner self
Slashing words change not what is
I am who I am upon this shelf
As time passes me by
So much to give is lost
But to hide the inner me
I can't no matter what the cost
I am who I am
That I will not alter
I will remain as me
Down life's road that I faulter
The cutting stinging words
Reflect not the real me
For they take not the time
To look within to see
To those I hold with in this heart
Along the wayside to never lay
Those final words of Good bye
Between us I will never say
No matter how busy my day
or how heavy my heart
For those in need
I must be there at the start
I fight to repel
What is cast upon my soul
To survive who I am
Is my only goal
For this I struggle
So hard to keep in sight
All the ugly stinging words
I must always against fight
The battle between what is said
And what is known
get mixed as one
When such hate born lies are shown
Oh well ... Maybe one day
I can wait
I just truly pray
it won't come to late
I am who I am
Who else is there to be
From this pain I will emerge
A loving better stronger me
By God's hand
and in His Will
I Am But Who I Am
