Born Free

In this awesome country
I was born free
Here we stand united
and give thanks to Thee

It is by the loving shield of God
that we need not flee
but also thru the courage of our military
tomorrow we will see.

We owe our lives, our hopes, our dreams,
our tomorrows, our everythings and nothings
to the brave men and women that chance
all of their tomorrows, their duty not shirking

My heart over flows
with pride and compassion.
For our military and their loved ones
Who who stand as the American beacon

To those who made
the ultimate sacrifice
With Him you will be ...
Sadly Freedom has its price.

Because of those who went
before you I was born free
and because of you
I will die free.

This is dedicated to the step-son
of a dear friend of mine.
He is a very proud soldier who just
returned from Iraq last night
to the arms of his loving family.
God bless you Nick
I can never thank you for what you
have done for me and my children
and grandchildren. It is because of
you and your fellow soldiers
that I have hope
of them continuing
to live in a free America.
