 Parrot Man Saves The Day

Let me tell you a true story about my weekend
About how I met a new friend
8:30am on Saturday morning and the doorbells rings
‘Oh' I thought, ‘must be the postman bringing me nice things'
I throw on some boxers and T-Shirt
And there at my door is an attractive young girl in a mini skirt
“Excuse me, are you the man who keeps Parrots?” she did say
“I am indeed, I have an African Grey”
“Well there is a parrot in your neighbours bush eating a berry”
So I went into my back room and checked on my parrot daisy
She was there, so this parrot had nothing to do with me
So I went back to bed to watch some telly
Then about 30mins later the doorbell rings once more
And now it's my neighbour at my door
“Matt, I need your skills and knowledge since you're the Parrot man”
So in my boxers and T-shirts I went out to do what I can
The Parrot was sitting in my neighbours bush eating berries
And my neighbour was feeding it apples and cherries
It was a beautiful green Amazon parrot, I could see that
Then I saw that he had a friend sitting near by, Maurice my cat
“Maurice, don't be such a bastard and get inside now!”
Maurice gave me a look like ‘dad you're no fun' and a meow
We phoned the Vet and the RSPCA
Who said they'd come if it was in cage, then they'll take it away
I had a spare cage in my shed
So like a tornado I quickly sped
I assembled this cage and brought it out a blanket and gloves
The parrot seemed quite happy chewing on its berries and various shrubs
We had a crowd watching Parrot man try and capture this Green Amazon
“I stood on a chair, blanket in my hand, and said, “come here my son”
The Parrot looked at me and I looked at him”
And he knew what was coming
I threw the blanket over him and grabbed his wings
But it's never over until the fat lady sings
In one quick movement I jumped from the chair
With the grace of a ballerina I placed him in the cage with such care
The crowd cheered, Parrot Man had saved the day
And then we waited for the RSPCA
Who came to take this exotic elegant parrot away
Parrot Man, had saved the day!
