A heart of stone not this drone
They say a giant of a man though kind
I've changed a diaper seen a babies behind
Cried at a funeral of a good friend
Call me a wimp the crying ends
Telling a sad story a tear now and then blends
And yes, brought to my knees a babies first giggle
I shared a bottle once now and then did dribble
I am powerless to change the state of the world
But bow my head when the flag is unfurled
See an injustice I will be first to raise a fist
Asked four men outside it was they who did resist
Should we or should we not be in Iraq?
For it is true we are not fighting those who did first attack
I wish I knew the answers to all the worlds needs
Building more weapons it is the poor who need the feeds
Who is really the enemy foes or those stealing profits in the night
Record breaking profits from oils lying to us thats not right
Who should pay for these wars not those of us fighting?
Those stealing our futures in global warming not a one am I knighting
Those heads of oil companies are the brother's of Shieks
Lying to the world and our leaders not veterans but cheats
So who do I vote to change all this the candidates more of the same?
I just don't know and in that is all more of the shame
For each is a politician and leaves for the others all the blame
Not just because she is a woman nor just because he is black
Not just because he is a veteran it is in the election choices I do lack
Where is the candidate that stands to this countrie's principles
All the candidates put forward in this election do lack?
