Heart Of The Matter

And Yes, I Missed You Too.

Photobucket

The early evening traffic trundles on its way,
I'm sitting on my balcony with not a lot to say,
I try to make some sense of it,
My life that came to be,
I put my thoughts to paper,
And head it 'history',

I said a fervent fond goodbye to those not meant to be,
The love's who would betray me, and remove my dignity,
I choose instead the loyal friends,
The ones who really care,
I have so much to offer,
And so much more to share,

And sitting on my balcony, I hear the blackbirds' song,
My vision cased in clarity, I see where I went wrong,
And now it's time for changes,
It's time for letting go,
A string of lovesick lovers,
Parade the picture show,

My thoughts are interrupted by the ringing of the phone,
“I just called to say I miss you and I hoped to find you home”,
The voice is warm and welcome,
The words sincere and true,
And I say,

“It's great to hear from you,
and yes, I missed you too”.
