Some people live so far out
And miles away from any~
Good things don't often happen
And visitors not at all many~
Simple smiles away out along the miles
Where some are alone most every day~
Simple little pleasures occur
Appreciated in every way~
Like first walking out upon ones porch
And then finding that over night~
A most beautiful flower it has bloomed
And stood there waiting for your sight~
Or maybe a stroll around the shed out back
And finding within an old box right there~
A mother cat and a bunch of kittens
Almost hidden from daylight and fresh air~
To discover the smallest wounded bird
On your favorite garden chair~
Who has chosen you for a hand
As it knows of your love beyond compare~
People who live almost upon their own
Receive sometimes small miracles every day~
Little pleasures that come along
As if heaven sent in every way~
Never to be taken for granted
As so wonderful they are~
Little pleasures to warm ones heart
Though they live alone or out so far~
