She had many names but she was "Mama" to me
She's the one that was awaken from sleep
She's the one that went through all the pain
She's the one that taught me morals to sustain
To me she was the most beautiful of all
To me she was there each time I would fall
To me she was my protector and friend
To me she was the one that loved unconditionally
She worked her fingers to the bone day by day
She was the one that wiped my tears away
She was the one that made everything alright
She was the one that her presence was my delight
To me she was the provider,who seen us through
To me she was the comforter when I was feeling blue
To me she taught how to show respect
To me this was her best teaching yet
She was an inspiration for us to be upright
She was only 5 foot 3 but her strength was a sight
She raised her sons with a mighty strong arm
She never backed down to keep us from harm
To me she was the best Mama in the world
To me she was what I wanted to be from a girl
To me she did all she could to survive
To me she was my hero that gave me life
She now is in heaven and now I can see
She was made for God's helper throughout eternity
She was just one of His many helpers on earth
She was my favorite though, for she gave me birth
