 Place of mercy

Who can stand tall in your presence?
Who can boast of their own perfection?
Who can outshine the glory of God?
Who can walk into the inner sanctum?

God has said ‘Thou shalt not'.
Who can say ‘I truly have not?
God has said ‘Love me with your totality'.
Who can say I have, absolutely?

The ten commands most of us know,
The tablets stored in covenant ark,
But no earthly child dare stand before
The Lord Almighty and his perfect law.

But the lid of the ark gives us a clue,
The living God wants your heart to renew,
So the lid of the ark was also the mercy seat,
Where God and High Priest annually meet.

So with mercy and the sacrificial blood,
God knowing people cannot keep His law,
Covers their sin, yes, His people forgiven,
God and His people with relationship restored.

The Ark of the Covenant was placed in the Most Holy Place in the
Tabernacle and later in Solomon's Temple. (The inner sanctum)
The Great High Priest once a year came into the most Holy place.
with sacrificial blood after cleansing ceremonies so that the people's
sins could be forgiven.
For us, Christ Jesus became our sacrifice, yes, Jesus , Son of God,
loved you so much that he became your cleansing sacrifice.
As he died on Calvary, the heavy curtain in the temple that prevented
all but the High Priest from entering the inner sanctum, was torn
from top to bottom. With Christ fulfilling the sacrificial law, a new way
was opened for all to come to God and have their sins forgiven.
