Poetry For Everyday People

What I'm Working On These Days

I'm exploding
all day in subtlety,
behind the spot light,
below the surface,
just out of focus,
up with the spirit,
just passed you by,
I already know this,
I am back to this,

it's quite tiring
watching people chase
what they already have,
speak not of what they know,

and I tell them in silence,
as they listen loudly,

I'm lighting candles
every night,

to let love remember,
to let ghosts gather,
to calm the restless,
to speak softly in pain,
to pour us a drink,
to play some blues,

to save us.
