Heart Of The Matter

Think No More (A Sonnet)

Photobucket

I walk the shore that stretches evermore,
With not another living soul in sight,
Just killing time, I close another door,
Step out of darkness into blinding light,

I feel the wind blow freely on my face,
And close my eyes to visualise you here,
So sad to watch you fall so far from grace,
For once, your words were music to my ear,

I walk away from love and all its pain,
And banish from my mind all thought of you,
I face the truth; I won't see you again,
A fresh resolve to start my life anew,

I listen to the wild Atlantic roar,
And make a vow to think of you no more.
