A cold and lonely shelf my heart was placed upon
High above, out of reach of thieves and beggars
Wolves scratching at the door to claim it for themselves
Kept locked away from human contamination and temptation
An iciness set upon it : froze to the core of its being
Displaced from love and adventure of romantic inclinations
A chasm in my chest throbbed in a pitiful manner
While aches threatened to submerge memories of desire
Blanching at the depth of blackness that drove a spear through its beat
Yet this morning, a summer's butterfly soared over
And rekindled sweet life to the freezing slab it lazed upon
And gladness swept through me which had long been missing
The swell of a lost hug drew a gasp from the cavern of despair
Loves nurturing began its path through veins, silent for so long
And a volcano erupted to a crescendo of coloured magic
For he has reawakened my appetite for life and
Heavenly kisses rained down on me and reddened my blood
