Winners and losers,
Teetotalers and boozers,
Shakers and movers,
We all need friends.
Very young and very old,
Very shy and the very bold,
Friendly warm and the icy cold,
We all need love.
Brilliant professor and undergraduate,
City architect and brickies mate,
Seller of pins or real estate,
We all need faith.
Poorest pauper or powerful Pope,
Nuclear engineer or maker of rope,
Neurosurgeon or shooter of dope,
We all need hope.
Airline pilot and office worker,
Olympic sportsman and mountain Sherpa,
Submariner and shipyard steelworker,
We all need clean air.
Seems that we all need each other,
Mums, dads, cousins and brothers,
Uncles, aunts, friends and lovers,
Leave the planet clean my dear brothers.
Send this poem to friends far and near,
Tell them they have your undivided ear,
Then in the midst of strife and fear,
They will know that you really care.
Building friends and relationships,
Encouraging each other with sweet love gifts,
And remember wisdom, like Jesus said,
A man does not live solely by eating bread.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Man does not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from
the mouth of the Lord.
