Beautiful Disaster

April 20, 1991

She was like a roller coaster
Her moods swung up and down
Within five minutes
Her smile could become a frown
Almost everyone liked her
Although she'd disagree
She never knew her own worth
She'd shrug it off as flattery
She never understood
The impact she was making
Therefore she thought no one knew
When she was faking
But just as people notice
The darkened sky
When the clouds
Pass the sun by
They noticed when
She tried to cover up her heart
Pretending
To be bitter and tart
But she is learning
That her compassionate soul
Is what makes her unique
In everyone's typical lull.
She is moving the mask
And setting her heart free
To find the beauty in herself
That others so easily see
