Do not doubt me… as I doubt myself
to be lost in all that I am
I am not at ease… all I fail to please
each night alone with the damned.
Once far from doubt… thought I knew myself
free to walk the dark night
I was at ease… just myself to please
the darkness always so bright.
I ventured far… into darkened night
to be lost in all that I am
life then damned… I knew not this man
trying to be all he can.
So if you doubt me… as I doubt myself
please do lend a hand
I am just a man… a simple man
living with all that I am?
