And then he saw mud
The fiat Uno was ok
It got him to work each day
He complained it was grey
It ran alright on the motorway
The job paid his bills
And the occasional thrills
He worked the cash tills
In a chemist that sold pills
He shared with his cat
A one bedroom flat
An ongoing contract
£130 p/w plus VAT
His friends were local
He knew them from School
They were pretty cool
On Thursdays they'd play pool
Family lived not far
About 30mins in his grey car
He'd meet his brother at the bar
And chat over a good cigar
His girlfriend was called Sue
He liked her, she liked him too
Been going out since 2002
About time she said ‘I do'
One day he sold his fiat
His friends said he was an idiot
Moved out his flat
Without the cat
Dumped his girlfriend
It was coming to an end
Start a fresh and new
He could do better than sue
Left his job, he became annoyed
At the length of time being unemployed
His new rent was quite dear
Sue met someone else after a year
Things went wrong with his new car
He no longer met his brother at the bar
His new flat was just too far
He smoked on his own his cigar
He met someone else called Claire
She had sexy long black hair
But she was a bit of a liability
After a vodka and whiskey
He bought a dog called, Pat
But he missed his cat
Started to feel a bit guilty
A new start was unnecessary
The grass is greener on the other side
Change is usually matched with pride
Like a stallion retired to stud
The grass wasn't green; but mud!
