Frozen

Let me paint a picture now
Of what life would be without
Your tender love
For but a moment to show you
The blessing you are
To my heart

No song would leave my lips
Trembling words of love could never
Escape the silence
My nightengale call would perish
In the biting winds of the winter
That would overtake me

Hands that mean to touch like
A feathers silken down would
Become harsh, so harsh
Roughened by the wiping away
Of the tears that would fall
In my agony

Dreams would pass into the night
Never leaving a spark in the dim
A faded out glory
Paving the way for eternal blackness
The seeds of my nightmares planted
Able to grow in shadow

My world would become empty
No joys to light my eyes
Just a fire extinguished
No warmth would warm me through
I would stand here shaken
Simply frozen
