Poetry For Everyday People

This Way Friend

If you need me
whisper here

let your hair
down past your
pain, take a
deep breath of
new, rise above
what seems impossible,
back to where you,
were you,

the rut man
is one hell
of thing,
shackled by
lack of change,
same ol' pain
day after day,
hope dying
as you clock in,

doing your job
as you dream
of a way out,
plotting in great
detail your escape,
yet going nowhere,

If you need me
whisper here

this is the clearing
beyond the madness,
home to those who
have none, love to
those loveless,
company to those
lonely,

we can't be forgotten
nor left without
a chance,

as the root inside
a pot that can no longer
contain the dreams of a plant,
make its way through the hole
at the bottom
and dig its own way
to paradise,

I find it impossible
not to reach you
at least long enough
to tell you

if you need me
whisper here.
