If I can't talk to YOU

If I can't talk to You, what's left for me?
If I can't get through, where will I be?
Must this pain be all that I feel?
How can I know what's right, what's real?

I have no tribulation, no distress,
Why should I feel so very depressed?
I'm not persecuted, nor famished,
Yet, I feel like I am vanquished.

I'm not naked, there's no peril, no sword,
Why can't I come to You, with one accord?
You gave up Your very LIFE for me,
Yet, I am captive to my misery.

You have not moved:  it's me; I know.
Somehow, I just can't seem to grow,
Weighed down with mountains of worldly care,
I can't force myself into meaningful prayer.

Yet, all my transgressions are forgiven,
My sin is covered, I'm bound for Heaven.
Your Holy Spirit heard my plea,
And Jesus forgave my iniquity.
