Where the hills roll into mountain slopes
And wildest brumbies freely run~
In and out between ridges and the shadows
And mountain vallie's hide from the sun~
Bush and tree thick vast and high
Plains of lushest grasses all around~
Here and there between the hills
Where high mountain breezes can be found~
Where eagles fly away up in the sky
Chicken hawks hunt each and every day~
Dingo's run in packs to survive
And the Kangaroo sleeps the day away~
Where endless marsupials live as one
Cockatoo's and parrots up there many~
Smallest creatures everywhere to be found
In the mountains every nook and cranny~
Grasses of endless verities grow
Ferns'mosses'vines'and wild blooms galore~
Away up there where so pure the air
Way before man thought to ever explore~
Where peace and ultimate serenity reins
In the most Godly Australian natural way~
Everything functioned simply wonderfully
Way back before man there ever had a say~
Silence up there plays it's own symphony
Only broken by a whip birds call~
Echoing through thick mountain growth
Away up where the winter snow does fall~
Wild flowers bloom all in their time
All so beautiful and so proud~
Away up where the sky is as blue as blue
Only accompanied by high mountain cloud~
A place I know and love so dear
Memories up there many that come to mind~
Away up in the Australian Snowy Mountains
Where one can almost leave time behind~
