Heart Of The Matter

Miss Daisy .....

Miss Daisy wore her widest grin,
Resplendent in her latest sin,
The mastered art of being coy,
She teased and tempted preacher boy,

He struggled, flustered in her wake,
Failed to avert his big mistake,
And to his father, he confessed,
His father, preacher man, distressed,

Poor preacher boy, head hung in shame,
His poor excuse now limp and lame,
Miss Daisy wore her widest grin,
And duly, blamed it on the gin!
