Love To My Other Mother

For years you have been my other mother

Although none could ever replace my other

I thank-you for birthing your Son for me

For all you've done that's made me so happy

You brought to my heart the love of birds

Being God's precious winged creatures on earth

You planted a single Iris bulb to bloom

Now a multitude covers my outdoor room

You planted a rose of sharon many years ago

Now throughout my property many now grow

You shared many of plants from the old homestead

That I planted with love by the fences and flowerbeds

I guess the greatest one was just a seedling

A lovely Mimosa tree from your grandpa's property

It is in the center of my yard at the end of my pond

Last year it even had blooms and I cherished every one

All this beauty came from God's seed

Yet it was you that shared so many with me

I love the mimosa and his name is now Moses

He stands mightily overlooking flowers and roses

You live in Florida and rarely get to see

All the beauty you have shared with me

But this year you came and were intrigued

Giving a compliment of all the beauty you seen

So in this poem I wanted to give honor to you

For the gift of your Son and all the seeds too

I think of you often and the times we have shared

I love you Mom and with gratitude ,

you are forever in my prayers

You are a strong woman that presses on

Not being idle for there's things to be done

You passed this legacy down to your children

As you are still working at age seventy seven

May God watch over you and help you through

All the trials in the physical that has come on you

You have a strong will and it is your legacy

This is a quality that all who meet you does see

God bless you Mom and give you continued strength

All the days of your life with courage and long length

It is truly God's hand that guides you through

For there's no other explanation to do what you do

Just know you are loved and we honor you

For sharing and caring and all that you do

May you always be safe and in God's will

For Jesus sends ministering angels to you still

Lovingly Your Daughter-n-Law
Pastor Linda Begley
June 9,2008
If I recall this is a song you always loved; "Child Of the King"
Eph.3:17-19
17.That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith;
that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18.May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth,
 and length, and depth, and height;
19.And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge,
that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
