In My Daughter's Eyes
In your eyes
I wish I could be
what ever it is
you want of me
Fallen short
it seems I have done
How hard I tried
as a party of one
It is with in your eyes
I wish I could see
The woman you want
and wish me to be.
My love for you
is compared to none
but it appears our past
can not be undone
With in my heart
you will always be
until the last wave
escapes from the sea
I'm not sure at all
what you wish me to be
but it's not all bad
the reflection I see
My heart is open
My love for you is pure
to change what I am
are you really sure
My days are numbered
less than from the start
I ask before it is to late
that you soften your heart.
I sit here gazing
into the night's sky
Wondering will I ever be
a twinkle In my Daughter's eye.
