OUR LAST GREAT ROMANCE
You walked into my life
straight from the dreams I held
within all of my life;
straight from the expressions
of my heart that no one
believed in but me.
You smiled and your eyes
held the promise of the future
I've always hoped to see;
the deeper longing you have held
within, waiting for the one
with whom to share.
You spoke my name, whispered
softly across a universe
of abandoned sorrow;
your voice touching my soul,
making it dance with joy
to the music of you.
You penned all your feelings
and painted all of your love
in colours of sunsets;
your words echo in my mind –
a masterpiece of wonder
in shades of blue.
You touch my cheek sweetly
and gazing in my eyes
we fall into heaven;
and all that came before us
vanishes in the moment
of our last, great
Romance.
