Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

I once danced with you...

I once danced with you the perfect dance…
that has lasted for thirty three years
through health and gain…
through loss through pain
and heartache that laid bare my fears.
Each year that passed as I danced with you
you danced with your love far away
and never your heart
thought my love a part
but lovingly I remembered each day.
Sometimes when thinking I think of that dance
and remember the words of the song
Minnie Ripperton  was singing “loving you” very soft
and your arms made me feel so strong.
You kissed me so softly and my lips found yours
and I knew that my heart was won
but your heart would soon dance with another
and my love could not be undone.
So now when I dance I dance all alone
but my perfect dance that is true…
the time we first met
I will never forget
that dance that I danced with you.
