Rhymes of the Heart

Justice For Caden

His mother handed him over
Turned her back and walked away
Where were the tears she should have cried
For her little boy that day

She left him there with strangers
She'd barely known two weeks
Placed in the arms of the babysitter
With no tears upon her cheeks

Couldn't walk not yet learned to talk
He was barely one year old
Food he'd never learned to eat
Just a bottle oh so cold

Baby shots had been forgotten
His little eyes a problem there
Abandoned with a shirt and bottle
No extra diaper for him to wear

Dear God let Caden find justice
In court on this July 1st
Or his loving babysitters
Hearts will surely burst

They've provided all he's needed
Including love he's never known
A real Mommy and Daddy
That he can call his own

He's healthy now fed and loved
His smile tells the story well
As he reaches for the ones who love him
Daddy Robert and Mom Danielle
