Stillborn rubies,
Eye of the lizard,
Peer from inside my head
Having curled up and died there
Some time ago
Dried out and glossed over,
Beady and hard
Once were sweet as berries,
Before life got woody
Gnarled and old,
Teeming of fire,
Crackle and pop
