Rhymes of the Heart

Dimming Of The Light

There's a light now dimming
In this old world today
And soon oh too soon
It will completely fade away

I see the light it once was
On that old familiar face
My memories they rush in
Something death will not erase

Lord I pray please give me strength
To bear this in my heart
For the dimming of the light
Now tears my world apart

Hands that used to hold me
Gentle but oh so strong
The laughter that filled my heart
Melodious as a song

If we could only go back
Into his arms I'd curl
Just one more day in his embrace
Being Daddies little girl

Lord, dim the light so gently
When its time to soar above
For you will take an Angel
The Father that I love
